What is the difference between profile and fill?
How a pillow looks and feels is dependent on two contributing factors- the profile and the fill. The profile of a pillow refers to its height (low, medium or high), while fill refers to the firmness of a pillow (soft, medium or firm). The best combination for you is relative to both body weight and sleeping style.
What’s in the fill?
Our pillows are filled with a variety of materials, natural and manmade, with something to suit everyone.
Feather & Down: down is super soft, luxuriously lightweight and easy to shape. It is crafted as a three-dimensional cluster which makes it breathable and temperature regulating.
Polyester: polyester pillows are easy to care for, offer plush support for the head and are available in various levels of firmness. These pillows can be machine-washed unlike natural fill pillows, and they dry relatively quickly.
Latex: latex is a natural polymer derived from rubber trees. When latex is used as a pillow filling, it creates a matrix of tiny interconnected bubbles that give it bounce and spring. Latex is long lasting, based on natural material and shapes itself to the head and neck. It's a cooler and lighter alternative to memory foam.
Memory Foam: memory Foam pillows mould to the body in response to heat and pressure to support and relieve discomfort in the neck and back.The pillow returns to its original shape once pressure is removed. Memory Foam is soft and smooth without lumps, durable and easy to care for.
Finding the Perfect Pillow
Do you often wake up with a stiff neck? This could be a result of poor sleep posture. When selecting the right pillow; head and neck alignment is most important, so your muscles can relax while still providing the right level of support while you sleep. You can determine the best profile and fill for you by considering your size and preferred sleeping position.
Side sleepers: side sleepers need to fill the gap between their shoulder and midline. A pillow that creates an up or downward tilt of your neck could be creating you discomfort. We recommend a medium to high profile pillow (depending on your size) with a firm fill. Gusset construction will also help to fill the gap.
Back sleepers: sleeping on your back creates a small curve in your spine, meaning there's only a small gap to fill. A low profile pillow will help to maintain the natural curvature whilst supporting your neck. Memory foam is a great option for back sleepers as it moulds to the shape of the head and neck to provide support that’s specific to you.
Stomach sleepers: for ideal comfort and support, stomach sleepers should select a soft pillow with a low profile. This will avoid lifting the head and neck to an unatural and uncomfortable position. We recommend memory foam or feather and down as the best suited fill for stomach sleepers.

You can check your body alignment at home to find the perfect pillow. How? Get someone to snap a pic of you lying down on your mattress with a pillow, in the position you're most likely to sleep in. The pillow should complement the natural curve of your spine.
When to Replace Your Pillow
Pillows typically have a shorter lifespan than mattresses and require changing every two years. If you find yourself waking up with an uncomfortable neck, this is an indication your pillow may be lacking proper support for your sleeping style. Other signs to look for include stains and discolouration or increased allergies.
