5 Ways To Become A Morning Person
Posted in: How To

What does your morning routine currently look like? Are you up and at ‘em from first light, or is your snooze button the only thing getting a workout before brunch?

The habits we practice before bed and first thing in the morning can set the tone for the day ahead. Love them or hate them, mornings happen every day. So, we say- learn to embrace them!

Discover the best ways to become a morning person.

1. Start your day earlier

If you’re not a morning person, waking up even earlier might sound like a step in the wrong direction. However, giving your mind and body a chance to wake up before rushing out the door, could make a huge difference to your day.

Try and get to bed at a reasonable hour, set your alarm a little earlier and take a few moments for yourself each morning before you launch into the day.

2. Make a move

Move your body first thing in the morning. It could be as simple as a light stretch or a short walk, or even a complete workout if you’ve got the time and energy. Doing any kind of exercise first thing in the morning will not only feel good, but it will help to boost your mood for the entire day.

 3. Hydrate

Have a glass of water as soon as you wake up- it’s as simple as that! Your body is naturally dehydrated first thing in the morning, so it’s important to replenish with the good stuff. This will help to kick start your digestive system and metabolism, and will boost your body’s ability to absorb nutrients.

4. Take time to unwind at night

One of the biggest contributing factors to your morning energy levels is how you’ve slept. Set a time each night when you can start to wind down, disconnect and switch off your screens. Ensure you’re dressed in soft and breathable pyjamas, your bedroom is calming and your bed is comfortable so your mind can start to relax and prepare for a restful night’s sleep.

 5. Start the day with something you enjoy

Climbing out of bed can feel like a chore when your morning schedule is all work and no play. Even if it’s only five minutes in the fresh air with a cup of tea or coffee; having something small to look forward to each morning will make rising and shining a whole lot easier.

Try to create healthier habits so you can embrace the beauty of spring and summer mornings. We challenge you to catch a sunrise this week!
