A: It’s all in the size. A standard Australian bath towel (usually 70 x 140cm) is the everyday go-to — it's great for a quick dry, easy to wrap around your hair, and dries quickly on the rail. A bath sheet is larger, measuring around 91 x 167cm, and gives you that cosy, fully wrapped-up resort feeling. Just keep in mind that bath sheets take a little longer to dry and take up more room in the washing machine.
A: For your everyday bath towels, aim to wash them after every 3 to 5 uses, and make sure you hang them out to dry properly between showers so they don't stay damp. Hand towels are a bit of a different story. Because they get used multiple times a day by everyone in the house (and guests), they tend to collect bacteria much faster. It’s best to swap those out for a fresh one every 2 days.
A: Keep your towels cloud-soft by washing them in warm water with a mild detergent, and skip the fabric softener. For that perfect hotel-fluffy finish, give them a good shake before line-drying, or pop them in the dryer on low heat for the last 15 minutes. When in use, it’s best to hang them flat over a wide rail instead of a hook, for maximum air circulation.
