Rituals of Care

Our care guides take you through how to best look after your products
— so they can continue to look after you.

Care by product

Curated by category, to ensure the longevity of our bed linen, towels, robes, loungewear and more.

Care by fabric

The starting point of each of our products, it’s our hand-chosen fibres that truly set us apart.
Discover how to best take care of each fibre across our collection.

TENCEL™ Lyocell Fibres

Products with TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres should be washed with a mild detergent in warm water and on a gentle cycle. For TENCEL™ Lyocell blends, please check the care label.

Cotton

Cotton should be washed using a warm gentle wash cycle and tumble dried on a low to medium setting. For cotton blends, please check the care label.

Linen

All of our linen products can be machine washed. Wash separately in lukewarm water on a gentle cycle. Linen is best air-dried and ironed while still a touch damp.

Silk

Silk products are generally machine washable and can be tumble dried on a low setting, however, some may be handwash only. Check the care label prior to discover which wash is best for your item, and do the same for silk
blends.

Wool

When it comes to wool, blended or otherwise, please check the care label first. For those that can be machine washed, be sure to use a wool cycle with a gentle eucalyptus-based detergent.

Hemp

The majority of our hemp offerings are machine washable. Wash separately in lukewarm water on a gentle cycle. Hemp fabric is best air-dried. If you choose to iron your hemp products, we recommend doing so while the item is still slightly damp. For hemp blends, please check the care label.

Polyester

For virgin or recycled polyester, check the care label before washing. If machine washable, use a gentle cycle and warm water.

General tips

Tricks of the trade that will keep your Sheridan favourites looking and feeling their best.

Care

Always follow the care instructions on product labels, as some items are machine washable, some are hand washable, and some must be dry cleaned.

Shrinkage

All fabrications are susceptible to shrinkage, and this has been accounted for in Sheridan’s sizing. However, washing or drying products at higher than recommended heat can result in significantly increased shrinkage.

Stain

Stains should be treated as soon as they occur. Gently soak, wash, or blot out the mark, using an oxygen-based stain remover or soap. Be careful not to scrub the stain, as this can damage the fabric’s fibres and remove the colour.

Washing

Having a clean washing machine is vital to caring for your products. This includes removing a build-up of soap scum and cleaning out filters. Your washing machine should be cleaned every six months, using the Tub Clean cycle. Refer to the machine’s manufacturer for what cleansing agent should be used.
