Colour Crush: Styling Capri Blue

There’s truly no better feeling than being on holiday. Sleeping in, lounging around, soaking up the sun (after we slip, slop, slap on our sun safety, of course), just living slowly and stress-free. This vacation bliss is exactly the feeling we wanted to recreate in our Spring Summer collection, The Breeze. Colours are bright, patterns are playful, and each design has been crafted to bring a slice of that holiday relaxation into your day-to-day life. When we think about creating our perfect summer paradise at home, one design immediately springs to mind — Sierra. 

Our Sierra design was hand drawn here in our Sydney Design Studio; inspired by grand architecture, hand-painted tiles, and tropical foliage. When it came to selecting the colour palette, there really only felt like one choice to capture that seaside villa feeling: capri blue. Bright and bold, capri blue might just be our favourite trending colour this season. It’s playful, chic, and lends a breezy coastal feeling to any space. If your space is lacking a little bit of summer energy, here’s some of our favourite ways to style blue in the bedroom. 

When styling capri blue in the bedroom, we like to keep our look nice and relaxed. Opt for sheeting made with crisp cotton or laidback linen — something breathable that will keep you cool and look effortlessly tousled on your bed. 

Our Sierra design is printed onto a classic white base, which keeps our look feeling bright. We love pairing the Sierra quilt cover with white sheeting to really accentuate that lightness. 

To balance out your white base, mix your Sierra pillowcases with some Abbotson Bloc pillowcases, also in the shade capri blue. Abbotson Bloc is crafted from our much-loved Belgian flax linen, which feels buttery-soft against skin. It’s finished in a yarn dyed colour block design, bringing some high impact capri blue that pairs seamlessly with the Sierra collection. The mix of cotton and linen brings a nice tactility to your look, too. 

Wondering what accent colours to pair capri blue with? This shade plays incredibly well with zesty citrus hues — bright lemon yellow is our personal favourite pick. Our Wrenn cushion in lemon or Endrik in bitter lemon both make for an ideal pairing, bringing all of those sunshine vibes to your space. The Holt cushion in russet picks up on splashes of blue and yellow — a perfect piece to tie your palette together.
