A forever-favourite shade, there’s something about the colour green that can boost our mood and leave us feeling refreshed. Widely loved for its versatility and ability to take on any mood, there’s no wonder we love styling a green bedroom.

The original muse herself, Mother Nature is a recurring source of inspiration for us when it comes to styling. Lately, we’ve been daydreaming of warm days spent in the sun — think afternoons sprawled out on picnic blankets with friends, bare feet on grass and the feeling of utter relaxation. So naturally, we’re looking for ways to bring this feeling into our homes; creating a space where every day feels like sheer summer bliss.

Imagine this: walking into your bedroom and falling into lush layers of greenery — your very own slice of natural splendour. Sounds pretty good, right? We think so, too. So, without further ado, here are a few of our favourite green bedroom ideas.

Reversible Prints

We’re firm believers that there’s a shade of green for every mood. From dramatic forest green, to energising emerald and soothing sage — if you can feel it, there’s a green for that. This got us thinking, what if we wanted to change up our decor to suit our mood? For obvious reasons, revamping your bedroom interior every other day isn’t the most practical option. Our solution? Reversible designs. A perfect two-in-one option, reversible bedding allows you to completely shift the look of your space with a simple flip of a quilt cover (or a pillow or throw — you get the idea).

Our Inez quilt cover set was designed with exactly this in mind. A vivid snow pea green on the face and a bright citrus shade on the reverse; whichever side you choose, a lush green field awaits. We love folding back the top of the quilt cover to really show off that contrast, as well as playing mix-and-match with coordinating pillowcases. After all, why choose one green when you can have both?

Lush Layers

This brings us directly to our next styling tip: mixing your greens. When it comes to styling green, don’t just limit yourself to one shade — layering multiple shades of green together is where the magic really happens. The contrast between light and dark or warm and cool brings dimension to your space and elevates your look.

For our summery green bedroom look, we’ve chosen our Reilly Stripe Sheet Set in snow pea. A cool minty green with a classic stripe pattern, these sheets pair perfectly with the bold shades of Inez. Not to mention the combination of florals and stripes, which is one of our all-time favourite odd-couple pairings for bedroom styling. We love the hidden stripey surprise you get when folding back the covers, or the sneak peek that a Reilly Stripe Pillowcase Pair can bring.

Want to highlight those lemon-lime hues as well? Layer in our Reilly Pillow Sham in yuzu for a zesty citrus infusion.

Clashing Combinations

As you might have noticed with our mix of stripes and florals, we love a pattern clash. Mixing patterns in your bedroom is the perfect way to add a dash of eclectic style and a whole lot of personality to your space. Decorative pieces like cushions and throws give you room to experiment with placement and layering, so you can try out different combinations and see what works for your space.

Our Koda Cushion is a perfect addition, with a playful geometric pattern and tufted embroidered face. Finished in shades of green, yellow, and pink, it’s a one-stop-shop for complementary colour combinations — and of course, it pairs beautifully with green decor. Style with the Holt Cushion and Otaria Throw for ultimate picnic vibes, both finished in a colourful oversized check.

Coordinate Your Loungewear

An optional (but highly recommended) step in your green bedroom makeover is to indulge in some matching loungewear. Just think, leaving your stylish green bed won’t be nearly as difficult when you can slip into a coordinating linen robe and slippers to make your morning coffee.

In fact, our entire Abbotson Linen loungewear collection has gotten the green memo. So whether you’re a shirt and shorts or slip dress kind of pyjama person, there’s a perfect shade of snow pea green just waiting to join your weekend-wear rotation. Despite what they say, it really is easy being green.

Accessorise Your Space

It’s time to talk finishing touches. To really bring your green bedroom decor to life, think about ways to introduce greenery throughout your space — you’d be surprised what a big impact some small details can make.

The most obvious accessory for a nature-inspired room is, well, nature. Pot plants of all shapes and sizes will go a long way in achieving that lush feeling; just make sure you’re choosing plants that will work with your light levels and environment.

If house plants aren’t your thing, try accessorising with botanical themed coffee table books or wall art — dried or pressed flowers are another great, zero-maintenance alternative. Taking a slow and steady approach is key here; have fun collecting pieces over time and before you know it, you’ll be surrounded by curated items that speak to your personality. What’s not to love about that? Whether it’s green in colour or simply in vibes, what’s important is that it speaks to you.
