Transform your bedroom into a cosy sanctuary by embracing the warm and soothing appeal of earth tones. Fiona Gould, our interior stylist for Sheridan, shows us how to showcase her favourite colour palette of the season. Combining shades of mocha brown with delicate rose pink, Fiona shares everything you need to know about creating a bedding ensemble that promises a serene escape within your own home.

The Foundation

Fiona starts her look with our Branler Bed Cover in the shade mocha. This rich, earthy base sets a comforting tone, perfect for a relaxed bedroom aesthetic. Choosing a bed cover or quilt cover with subtle texture or pattern can add depth without overwhelming the space. 

For a romantic twist, Fiona pairs this with a 1000 thread count sheet set in the colour rosewater. This shade of rosy pink might be gentle, but its impact is mighty, bringing out the warmth in our layers of mocha brown. And its smooth sateen weave brings a subtle lustre and luxurious feel, to boot. 

Building Layers

Layering is key to achieving a lush, inviting bed that you can sink into. A throw blanket in a slightly deeper shade of mocha or a complementary neutral like taupe brings warmth and visual interest. Drape it casually at the foot of the bed or along one side for an effortless look. 

Cushions are where you can truly play with the palette and textures. Incorporate several cushions in varying shades of mocha, rose pink, and even touches of cream for brightness. Mix sizes and shapes (think squares, rectangles, and even an occasional round cushion) and choose different fabrics like velvet, linen, and cotton weaves to add depth and interest. A couple of statement cushions with contrasting prints can tie the whole colour scheme together nicely.
